Call to Artists

In our continuing expansion and search for great talent within the photographic medium, UPA Gallery is calling for artist submissions to be featured and represented by our worldwide gallery. We are looking for emerging or established artists with an established body of work and intellectual direction, one derived from a passion for the medium and its expressive aesthetic and communicative outcomes.

Our mission statement is as follows: “The United Photographic Artists Gallery is committed to the advancement and representation of emerging artists through an exclusive gallery of limited edition photographic works. UPAG supports the education, income, and creative progress of emerging artists via an internet-based format as well as on ground seminars and gallery openings.”

With this statement in mind, we are looking for engaged photographers who have a body of work already in place, as well as solid plans for future conceptually based work that would fit within our existing mission.

Yes, there are fees to join UPAG, in order to sustains our website maintenance and marketing, yes we charge a gallery fee consummate with all other galleries, yet we are committed to the excellence and ethical application of photography as a medium in its own rights.

Invites are encouraged to submit the following information to our email: A short bio inclusive of any group shows, solo shows and any awards received within the last three years, a succinct resume, artists statement(s) as needed and links to your current work (websites etc…). The founding members of UPAG, as well as several established curators will carefully review all applications; feedback will be given within a few days of each submission (although some of the curators we use may not always be available within such a short time frame). Upon a provisional acceptance to UPAG, contracts and further information will be sent together with a telephone or Skype interview in order to establish and resolve a mutually beneficial collaboration and venture.

We launched this gallery in early 2014, but we have already reached a milestone in terms of worldwide reach, with customers across Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. It is important to note that we deal with limited print editions of conceptually resolved bodies of photographic work as a first priority, together with an intellectual and aesthetic approach symbiotic and complimentary with our existing artists.

We look forward to your submissions and encourage everyone to continue growing within your artistic endeavors, for your own sake and the world’s benefit.

Best,

Pierre Dutertre, MFA, President and curator, UPA Gallery
