Twilight Zone: Places of Fear
The onset, rapid worldwide spread, and ravages of COVID-19 have resulted in numerous deaths and the emptying of public spaces that were until only recently busy sites of human activity. Grocery store cashiers, health care workers, and others needing to continue working daily and interacting with others carry on activities underscored by worry and fear. Through images of tangible sites, Joel Geffen’s project explores the more intangible human emotional experience of encountering an invisible and frightening vector of mortality.
