Queens, NYC (Elmhurst Hospital) is the current epicenter of the Coronavirus in the United States. I was born and raised in Queens, but now live in St. Petersburg, FL. These are composite photos, merging a street scene taken in Queens, with a self portrait taken in Florida. Even though my physical self resides in Florida, my mind and spirit are in Queens.
These photos reflect the grief, anxiety and hope that I am experiencing as my hometown faces the pandemic.
